The only thing that Gogan has ever been asked to do is fight, and that he has NEVER been asked to do in his life. That’s why he is the greatest athlete of his generation. He also happens to be the greatest athlete of all time.
It’s funny how some people go to a fight, and some don’t – but that’s where boxing comes from. The greats of the sport, who dominated the sport for generations, have made the sport a business, and they would not have it any other way. It’s not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle.
In his first bout against Wladimir Klitschko, Gogan was sent to the canvas early, and his manager, Mike Ditkovich, was sent in to stop the fight. So, it’s not surprising that Gogan’s first fight was against the greatest fighter of all time – who may have been the greatest fighter of all time. Gogan’s second fight with Klitschko was against a fighter he actually beat in their first fight.
In fact, the fight was quite a bit of a mismatch. Gogan was only able to score two knockdowns, while Klitschko was able to score 17 knockdowns. But Gogans performance was clearly the product of a mind that was miles ahead of his opponent.
Gogans fight was actually his third consecutive win over the same opponent, a fact that is quite surprising given Gogan’s tendency to be such a huge underdog. Not only is Klitschko the second most feared fighter in world boxing, he’s also the third most feared opponent. And that’s a big deal.
As a competitor, Klitschko is a serious opponent, but to Gogan its just another fight. And one he has to win.
