When one of the trains is operating, the sound of the locomotive and the scenery of the mountains surrounding the train station is an almost tangible reminder of the town and the mountains. To me, it is also a reminder of how much I miss the beauty of the Colorado Rockies and how much I miss the Loveland Canyon Railroad Museum.
The Loveland to Loveland Amtrak rail-fanfest is the only Amtrak event that I’ve ever attended that’s both educational and fun. It’s also by far the most popular, with the trains running more frequently, and the most unique, with the trains running on a different track every day. I’ve taken the train to Loveland to Loveland three times so far. I’ve enjoyed every single day.
