Miles to Billings is a blog about my attempt to put a little more distance between myself and the outside world, and the road trips that I take with my best friend, my fiancé, and our dogs.
Just a few days ago I went on a little expedition to the mountains of Colorado to check out a new trail that had been in the works for a long time. The plan was to hike to Billings, a small town in the mountains that’s known for its wildflowers, breweries, and lots of outdoor fun.
The main reason that I’m in Colorado is to attend the annual Billings Mountain Festival, and as part of that, I was asked to lead a group of hikers up to the top of a mountain. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I was really excited about the opportunity to hike up the trail in the summer, take some photos, and meet some new people.
The team has a few exciting projects to focus on this evening’s post. One is a photo shoot of a large-scale project that’s being worked on at the site. The other is a trip to the website, where we can take a look at the site’s homepage.
The people who put this together, and the group of hikers we met, were very accommodating. We were in the backpacking group, and they told us they were taking the tour guide as well. I was not aware of it at the time, but I was told that the tour guide is actually the lead singer of a band called The Monotones.
